An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a designated exceptional landscape whose distinctive character and natural beauty are precious enough to be safeguarded in the national interest. AONBs are protected and enhanced for nature, people, business and culture.
As AONB ambassadors, we commit to promote the AONB, actively help to conserve and enhace our landscape and reduce our impact on the environment.
The Sid Valley Biodiversity Group brings together people from several of the valley’s community groups to pool ideas and expertise about how to promote and enhance the wonderful natural wealth of the valley. The group is active in helping us to monitor the birds, insects, water courses and wildflowers across our farms. Look out for information in our newsletters and on our website about birdwatching walks and wild flower identification.
The Soil Association is a charitable organisation campaigning against intensive farming, promoting local purchasing, and public education on nutrition. They provide a certification process for organic production, so you know what you are consuming meets a set of oragnic standards. All of our land, meat and wool are certified organic.
You can buy our organic meat with confidence in the product quality attributes including food safety, animal welfare and environmental protection. The assessment covers areas such as animal health, veterinary medicines used, waste management, housing space allowance and vermin control.
Established in 1999 Naturalmat have pioneered the use of organic and natural materials to create wonderfully comfortable mattresses, beds and bedding at their workshop on the banks of the River Exe in Devon. We provide Naturalmat with organic wool that is used in the production of their mattresses and bedding.
Whole Health Agriculture is an inclusive community of farmers, health professionals and citizens, dedicated to supporting and promoting those who farm for health and vitality. They provide information, education, and support to farmers seeking alternatives to synthetic chemicals, antibiotics, and artificial interventions.
The NFFN are a group of farmers who have come together to champion a way of farming which is sustainable and good for nature. The network consist of big and small, organic and conventional farmers, who are all passionate about ensuring our countryside is productive and bursting with wildlife.
Countryside Stewardship provides financial incentives for farmers, foresters and land managers to look after and improve the environment.
